This past Sunday, November 3, the Mégarama Casablanca hosted the official premiere of Za3zou3, a unique film that blends humor and adventure, directed by Rabii Chajid. Produced by Mizar Studios and distributed by Mégarama, Za3zou3 marks a major milestone for Moroccan cinema. The previous weekend, the film was also screened in Zagora as a tribute to the local institutions and the warm hospitality of the Zagora community, whose support was essential in bringing this project to life. The screening in Zagora allowed the film’s team to thank everyone who contributed to making this vision a reality.
An Engaging Plotline
Za3zou3 tells the story of Jawhar, a local tour guide, and his friend Faraji, two endearing yet clumsy characters. Their everyday lives take a sudden twist when they stumble upon a mysterious manuscript containing a mischievous djinn named Za3zou3, who holds 100 wishes. Accidentally releasing this playful spirit, the two friends are swept into a series of improbable adventures, with each wish leading to new complications. Pursued by treasure hunters and the police, Jawhar and Faraji must use all their wits to navigate this unpredictable and hilarious journey.
A Talented Moroccan Cast Brings the Story to Life
To animate this story, Za3zou3 features a talented Moroccan cast. Mohamed Bassou plays the lead role of Jawhar, the spirited and fearless guide, while Ezzoubair Hilal embodies Faraji, his loyal, big-hearted companion. Oussama Ramzi stars as the mischievous djinn Za3zou3, adding an element of magic and mystery to the tale. Karima Gouit and Oussama Bastaoui bring depth and emotion to the story as Joudia and Moussa.
